This is a 99 Grand Cherokee Limited purchased used with 42k in 2002.
It was my every day car that graduated to my project car. My new everyday car is an '08 Honda Civic that pulls down around 36 mpg. Hoo Rahh!
Obviously, my first upgrade was the BDS Suspension 4" 4WD Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ Coil System.
I added Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ 265/75 R16's
I also added a K&N Generation II FIPK, and use the Superchips Max Micro Tuner.
My latest additions are:
The JB Conversion NP-231-HD with Super Short SYE. I connected it with two Tom Wood's double cardan drive shafts equipped with their 1310 series U-Joints at both the T-Case and differential. The necessary yokes were purchased from Tom Wood as well. The T-Case came with no front yoke. (I'm a hard customer, and Tom Wood is A-1 in customer service.)
We used a 2.5" rear shaft with standard spline (extended life spline was unavailable from Tom Wood in the 2.5" shaft) and a 2" front shaft with extended life spline.
I added the Mopar tow hooks on the front.
I Still have more to do, albeit it I'm not out to make some "SuperJeep" but as we all know, modifications just take time and money. Unfortunately there seems to always be shortage of one if not both.
Also, I'm in this for the fun and if this project quits being fun I'll sell it, shoot it, burn it, and move on to the next fun project.
Oh, I almost forgot, new brakes! SSBC Slotted rotars and matching pads all around. These are nothing fancy but they beat the stock stoppers.
